If for one minute you think the FAA hasn't exacted a culture change in Air Traffic than you need to open your eyes. Reduction in pay equates to less dues, weakening NATCA's ability to function in these new and changing times.

Now for the waste, fraud, and abuse the Agency has yet again entered into without any fiscal responsibility.(Saint Louis Hate Fest ring any bells?) Let's add in the pay that all these Management types made while in Atlanta, add in the cost of paying CIC pay and overtime to cover for management, and the total is much higher than the 5 million dollar price tag.

The spike that FAA Management has driven between itself and the workforce is still there, it's just in a dormant state until the next National election cycle. Why in today's world of technology do you need to send every FAA management type to Atlanta? The answer is simple,"You Don't"!!!!!!!!!!! How about teleconference? Maybe have 2 LMR specialist in each service area and send them to one location to get training on the new contract.

What I really need explained is why management can attend FAAMA functions and be in a pay status? Why the PWC can do the same? These two organizations lobby Congress, they pay a membership fee to join and are voluntary. So why are they allowed to basically attend conventions in a pay status? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?????????? This is more in the subtle and not so subtle Union busting techniques the Agency has stooped to in the last four years.

If you think for one second the Agency is going to play nice, you are dumber than you look. It's is time to take the fight to the ring. We must prepare for the future or else every fight we have ever been through is in vain.

Look around in your facility, look at all the new young faces of Air Traffic. It's time to pass the torch to the next generation before it is too late.

FAA Management will never play fair. All the chips have always been stacked in their favor. So if you think the next generation doesn't need to be smarter and more prepared then we were,then my friends we are lost, an you are sadly mistaken.

Tragedy on the Hudson

I thought long and hard before I decided to blog about this tragedy. To all that lost friends and family my heart goes out to you.

Visual Flight Rules. It's a simple premise, see and be seen. Look left, check left, then turn left. The bottom line is, a pilot under visual flight rules must stay vigilant even when receiving VFR flight following. Many factors add to the complacency that can occur in aviation. Excess traffic calls, false low altitude alerts on radar, conflict alerts on radar when traffic is not a factor, relying on technology instead of flying the aircraft or working Air traffic.

In the late eighties the B737 had a phenomenon called total rudder deflection. Between the speeds of 180-190 knots this deflection could not be corrected by aileron or rudder pedal. Many lives were lost because of humans relying on technology. Many pilots in twin training would have realized the quick fix was cut power to the engine that would counter the rudder yaw. Having their hands on the controls and feeling the aircraft, instead of on autopilot, may have changed this tragic series of events.

The bottom line is, there is no substitute for the human interaction in aviation. No amount of technology will make aviation safer without including human interaction in the mix. Not Nextgen, TCAS, RADAR, VFR flight following, Autopilot, Glass cockpit, GPS, etc., can take the place of see and be seen.

I blame the system for the inherent lack of respect for one simple trait,EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The FAA tried to be a regulatory Agency that would run like a business, with customers. Well, we have seen how well that has worked. A regulatory Agency must do just that, regulate. It cannot have customers.

Now it seems public opinion is looking for someone to blame for this tragedy.
Controllers are tasked with multiple responsibilities all the time. Controllers take pride in the fact they can multitask with the best of them. Millions of times in my career controllers have had to talk to aircraft, answer phones, coordinate with other facilities, and perform clerical duties, with no tragic outcome.It has come to be expected of us by our employer.

We have told the FAA it is unsafe to have one person on duty. Our cries fell on deaf ears. I urge you to contact your Congress person and tell them don't let the FAA compromise you and your families safety. There can be no price tag put on safety. Human life does not have a finite price. Who has the right to decide that 1.4 million is acceptable compensation for loss of life? No Agency, No Government, No individual, No CEO. There is no acceptable price for the loss of life in aviation.

Many tragedies are caused by a series or chain of events. One event or all but one event can occur without loss of life. But when the complete chain of events occurs then a tragic outcome is almost always likely.

We have had a mass exodus of experience in the Air Traffic world in the last three years. It will take the Agency at least 8-10 years to stop the bleeding from this loss of experience.The FAA has taken the stakeholders out of the decision making process for the future of Air Traffic.

So I urge every member of the aviation community to be extra vigilant over the next decade. We must accept nothing less than the safe, orderly flow of aviation in our great country. United in safety is the only way to create a safer environment. We cannot let corporate greed or the "good ole boy network" of acquisition and contracting to continue!!!!!!!!!!

I urge every member to get out and vote. We must have a greater voter turn out than 7,000. Vote for a fighter. Vote for Rinaldi! We have seen what a bridge builder gets us, absolutely nothing. Patty Cakes is a prime example. I really like Ruth, but I don't see her as a fighter. I see Ruth as a bridge builder. The agency will come out swinging, I guarantee you that. So we must have a fighter to fix this mess once and for all.

Those who fail to remember their history are doomed to repeat it!!!!

28 years ago today 15,000 Brothers and Sisters went on strike against the United States Government. Allegedly they were breaking the law. These brave souls stood up against the most powerful Government in the world, to fight for what they believed was fair and just.

They paid the ultimate price. They were fired by the man they helped elect. Then they named an airport after this former actor/governor/president. What a slap in the face.

Anyone who was hired after 1981 has a job because of the sacrifices this brave group paid for organized Federal labor. What they accomplished was unprecedented and will never be repeated in the history of Federal labor.

These Brothers and Sisters were arrested, harassed by the FBI, threatened, and were summarily fired.

I don't think that this organization would ever have the esprit De core, intestinal fortitude, brother and sisterhood, or the balls to pull off this feat.

I honor every PATCO Brother and Sisters memory on this anniversary.

I have had the extreme pleasure and honor to stand beside BJ Florence (Billy Jack) Valerie and Bob Butterworth (The Sis and The Prez) Dominic Torchia (The Wiz).

To the real Brothers and Sisters, the Choir boys, and all the thousands that will remain nameless, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

These Brothers and Sisters, even in retirement continue to fight for NATCA. Whether it is attending a regional meeting, the convention, Boots on the ground, they continue to fight tirelessly for each and every one of us. Each and every one of us owes them a debt we can never repay.

I right this blog today in honor of these brave Brothers and Sisters with nothing but love and admiration.

The Aboriginals believe the measure of a man is the adventures he lives and the story he is able to tell from those adventures. Man and nature are connected in every way imaginable. Every action can be sung or the story can be told to the next generation. This pure truth is, all history is either, written, drawn, signed, sung, or told in every society from the very beginning of mankind. Every society is doomed to suffer from it's simple lack of documented history. Every society, generation, or civilization must record it's history, this protects the next generation from the failures and misgivings of the last.

We (NATCA) have many Brothers, like "The Wiz" , "The Prez" "Billy Jack" just to name a few, that have been shut out from sharing our history with the next generation.They have not been able to sing their song or tell their story. They have earned the right to tell their stories a thousand times over.(None were picked for the Retired Natcavist program) A former supervisor, turned brother twice was. This is a huge slap in the face to these great brothers.

Those who fail to remember their history are doomed to repeat it. Even a simple society from one of the birthplaces of civilization knows this simple truth.

Like a bad rap line from Shaquille Oneil the NEB is asking: "Pat how does our ass taste?" Well I would assume not very good, huh Patty? I just love the fact that you reap what you sew has come around to biting good ole Patty Cakes right in the ass.

What really pisses me off, is the fact the NEB has done this at the cost of informing it's membership. Knowledge is power boys and girls!!!!!!! Facrep 101, keep the membership informed, period end of discussion! How long would any Eboard member have lasted at the facility level as a Rep if they pulled this bullshit? Not a whole term I guarantee you that. So how can you justify holding back information from the membership? You can't!!!!!! NEB you each get one fucking vote like every other member in good standing. Let the membership decide their own fate. If the membership is dumb enough to reelect Pat then they get what they deserve. NEB don't you try to fix the election in favor of anyone. Pat deserves everything he is getting, but the membership does not. Take it from a member who has been censored by Patty Cakes, let the cards fall how they may. NEB you have sunk to the level you tried to prevent from becoming reelected, now you are no better than Patty Cakes, maybe even worse. So where do we go from here? My take on the candidates is simply this. What have you accomplished to earn my vote?

Presidential candidates: (Ruth Marlin): Great political background, former EVP, great with NATCA treasury duties, Never a Facrep, not a great LMR backround. Good public speaker. Good at the written word.

Paul Rinaldi: Current EVP, good LMR background, former RVP, guilty by association with current leadership.Very passionate, hard working brother.

Pat Forrey: Current President NATCA, former RVP, Not a great public speaker, Written updates are few and far between,takes credit for work that is not his,circumvents the convention body on issues, Most Facreps fired, most discipline/ suspensions issued to bargaining unit members in the history of NATCA, no contract, no back pay, no agreement reached between the parties and ratified by the membership, secrecy,lock out of the EVP from all political meetings, censorship and lifetime ban of members in good standing from NATCA BBS a Union benefit, no return to green book, no fix of Title 49, no Executive order for permissive bargaining rights,lied about his use of the Main Bang, lied about his position on Obama transition team.

Executive Vice President candidates: Trish Gilbert: Incredible in the political arena for NATCA ( BOOTS ON THE GROUND)Former center Facrep, well rounded in both LMR and Lobbying /Political arena.

Rich Santa: Current Center Facrep, Well liked by his membership, took time to visit many small facilities on the campaign trail, Good speaker, keeps his membership updated at all times, Grass roots activist for NATCA issues, good at a team concept.

These are my honest opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of our candidates.
I feel that the proof is in the actions of each Brother or Sister. What has each done for this organization? What they will do? How effective were they?

I appreciate loyalty, but it is time for a change in NATCA. Pat in my opinion has failed miserably. I have not written one thing about any candidate out of disdain or emotions. I believe I have done my homework. The facts speak for themselves, please do the research for yourself. I find it very disheartening that a group of highly intelligent, motivated professionals would blindly vote for Pat. I now understand how most of America was bilked by "W". But what I failed to see three years ago was how over 50 percent of NATCA could be bilked by Pat. How can this happen to a group of informed, intelligent, professionals? Propaganda, lies, laziness, complacency,and change for the sake of change? That's how!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's not let history repeat itself. Our profession, our membership and organization cannot afford another three years like the last.

The Greatest Generation

I thought long and hard about what I was going to say for Memorial day. I know it was a week ago. In my opinion we live in the Country we do today because of one group of Heroes. I don't use the term hero often. Our World War II veterans gave us a chance to become the greatest country on this earth. From the deserts of North Africa, to the South Pacific, and all through Europe, this generation fought until they died, were wounded, or the war was over. There were no 13 month rotations. You were in it for the long haul. Americans lined up in groves to join the Military. Those who couldn't fight produced war goods,rationed gas and food. This great generation did what ever it took to over come one of the greatest evils in the History of mankind.

To all that have served this great country I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!! To my Marines Semper Fi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the next time you see that elderly couple in a restaurant, and the gentleman is wearing a WWII hat or jacket, thank him, no better yet buy them breakfast. It's the least you could do for all the sacrifices they made for our great Country. My fathers best friend Luther was a POW twice in Germany. He escaped twice and went back to fight after each escape. My great Uncle has lived with pain for 60 years from the shrapnel still in his body to this day. He never complained once. He could barely afford the prescriptions he needed to deal with his injuries. The VA never assisted him until a few years ago. This generation are the real heroes in my opinion. They did what ever it took to become victorious, because failure was not an
option.

War is the last resort. War is the most inhumane act between mankind. In the Animal world it's survival of the fittest. A natural order made to keep balance between the species. It may seem quite cruel to see a lioness tear apart a wilder beast. The fact is the whole pride will eat from that kill. The natural order of over crowding of a species is taken care of out of necessity. In the animal kingdom the war is over survival. For mankind it is far more sinister. War is over religion, or imposing ones will over another group or society. I will never forget the sacrifices this generation made for America, I only pray you don't either.

It's scary, down right frightening, and invigorating all at the same time. I want to see where the chips fall after this mediation session is complete. There is a large bucket of payback waiting for some really evil people here in aviation land. I hope the next generation finally gets paid what you deserved all along.Becoming successful in this demanding occupation is a badge of courage, that should not be taken lightly. I really wish I could support our current leadership here in aviation land.

I truly know how important solidarity is to an organization like ours. But I just can't seem to get past what Pat has done in his tenure as our President. You don't circumvent the supreme convention body that represents every member lock, stock, and barrel!!!! It's just not done. You don't leave a Union Brother or Sister behind. You just don't do it. You don't have secrets from your membership. It's just not right. You don't lie to your membership. It's not the way to garner support or instill trust. You don't lock out your EVP from any White House meetings because they are running against you in the upcoming election. Solidarity starts at the top. What does this division of the House do for this organization? It's makes it weak. What example have you set for the next generation. ME ME ME, nothing else matters. I don't know what else to do. I have to let our leadership know how I feel.

Banned from the BBS for life. Why because I typed F4ck just like the author of the post. I am a member in good standing. I have the same rights has the rest of the membership, correct? No, I can't even get updates on the BBS from our own President. I can't stay informed. Do I get a dues rebate, or reduction, absolutely not!!!!!!!! Bottom line we don't censor each other. I shouldn't have to throw Pat under the bus. I should be able to engage in robust debate and agree to disagree. This is what made our organization great, free thought,brain storming, and an occasional fuck you over cocktails at the bar. Many of our greatest ideas have come from robust debate and an F-bomb or two.Too many people greater than anyone of us have paid the ultimate price with their lives to protect our freedoms. Don't let their sacrifice be in vain. Don't call a brother a brother or a sister a sister if you aren't going to run up the hill and give your whole heart and soul with them. Solidarity is not just a catch phrase, It is the backbone of any labor organization. Ours is no different.

Let's hand the torch to the next generation with proud memories of what we have accomplished together. Let's leave this great profession with our heads held high knowing we made it better for the flying public and the next generation of brothers and sisters that will continue in our fight for safety above all.

When you represent a bargaining unit, you represent them, you don't censor, berate,question,or coerce them. You look out for the best interests of the members you are paid to represent. You work for your members, not the other way around. You can be replaced!!!!!!! When the membership speaks, regardless of your personal feelings you obey. You don't try to circumvent, undermine, or disregard their wishes because of your Napoleon complex or ego. Pat is a miserable,weak, and lousy President of our organization. Three years without a contract. Three years of secrecy. Three years wasted trying to play nice. If you really cared about this organization you would have let the past President finish what he started. Instead you and a few of the RVP's got your feelings hurt when you got bitch slapped for your unprofessional behavior. When our past President expected a level of professional conduct from his executive board you started a mutiny. So Pat wasted two years learning about the Beltway, establishing relationships with Washington insiders, at our expense. He lied about his position in the Obama transition team. I say enough is enough. It's time for the Midwest Brother's and Sister's to pull their heads out of their collective asses, and vote for a real change in this organization. Mediation to fix the Air Traffic disaster is a great start. But it is just a start. I hope the President of the Controllers Union doesn't try to take credit for the administration keeping their promises to the 15,000 controllers.I really hope we have a fix to this mess prior to the 4 year anniversary of the Nontract. Don't let the timing of this fortuitous event be muddled by lies to get reelected to the NATCA Presidency. Pat has done little or nothing for this Union. He has circumvented the Convention body in the Bob/John fiasco. He selectively enforces the will of the Convention body only when it suits his own agenda. So I go to my credit Union to withdraw forty dollars. I park right in front of the ATM, the curb is yellow. As I am walking out to the the ATM this older gentleman says, "I guess some people just can't read". I advise the gentleman, "Don't be a fucking smart ass." He's says to the man next to him, "Did you hear what he said to me?" I repeat myself, "Yah I said don't be a fucking smart ass."

What makes people write checks with their mouths that their asses can't cover? Did he really have to put in his two cents? Is he the unofficial Credit Union parking monitor? I don't know why it pissed me off so much, but it did. I think more people need to mind their own business. Curiosity killed the cat is a saying for a reason. If you hear gun shots run, don't ask what are you shooting at, moron, because the answer will be you.

Have we become such a big brother society with our camera phones, video phones, traffic cameras, etc.? I am sure he had better things to do, then open his big fucking mouth and tell me what I already know. Sometimes we need to take ourselves less serious. Life is too short for all this petty bullshit. I felt bad because of how I let this individual ruin that portion of my day.

So this is my midlife crisis!

As I look back in retrospect at my life I wonder, what if I had done things differently? Why didn't I do this when I was younger? I could have traveled, or stayed in college, learned a musical instrument at and early age, kept playing golf etc. Why why why why? Is this my destiny? Why at this point in our lives do we tend to second guess ourselves? I don't feel the need for a sports car. I don't have a young girlfriend. So why do I feel life is passing me by? I really just don't know the answers to these questions and it pisses me off. I think now I understand the phrase: "Youth is wasted on the young." When we are young enough to do certain things in life, we often times don't have the monetary means to do so. And when we finally have the means we are older and wonder why in the %$#@ am I trying this now?

There are many things I would change in this life if given the chance. Oh regrets can sometimes almost paralyze us. Well I say the hell with regrets, so I'm not perfect, who in the hell is? I just know that we all wish sometimes we could turn back the clock and change the past. I know I do!!!!! I should just be able to sit back and say look what I have done with this life and be happy.
But it's like searching for that elusive Yettie, wondering what is beyond the next mountain, above the stars, or below the sea. This indescribable urge to keep looking for the golden egg, the greener grass. Sometimes when you wake up and open your eyes you realize it was right there in front of you all along. To love and be loved is the greatest treasure on this earth. It's what many of us spend our whole lives trying to find, when most times it's right there in front of us, if we had only taken the time to look.

Time is the only thing we can never get back, spend it wisely my friends. If you don't think that time is precious, and must not be wasted, then my friends you are sadly mistaken.

Why is Congress wasting our tax dollars investigating alleged steroid use in Major league baseball? Last time I checked Baseball was part of the entertainment industry. Do you give urine test to Actors in film and television? Are you going after all forms of entertainment for alleged steroid use from Body building(the worst offenders), wrestling(the second worst offenders), the NFL , NHL, etc., well you get the point? The answer is no. Some self important jackass in Congress needed some face time on television is the only reason why this witch hunt has begun. To hide under the guise of protecting America's youth that look up to these baseball role models is criminal. What a crock of hypocritical BS.

Our Governments CIA kidnapped individuals and feed them LSD, locked them up, studied them like lab rats, and then let them go. They have issued amphetamines to long range pilots and reconnaissance teams in our military to help them stay awake on long missions. Our government injected our Special Forces with steroids to increase there performance in battle. Don't even ask what they did to our astronauts. So why the hipocracy? How can our government justify breaking its own laws on the one hand, and in the other hand try to prosecute entertainment professionals in baseball for the very same thing?

I do not believe in the use of steroids or other performance enhancing drugs for any reason other than health issues. What I do believe in, is that our government is not in the business of regulating every aspect of our lives. Why does a certain minority feel the need for everything to be spelled out or regulated? It's childish, its laziness, it's ridiculous. Parents need to parent their children. Congress is not responsible for keeping children off steroids. Parents are the ones that have this responsibility. We need to quit playing the blame game. Sometimes shit just happens, call it fate. Why do we feel the need to place blame for every unfortunate event that transpires. Someone has to pay for this, why? Take responsibility for you and yours, and quit pointing your fucking fingers at others, because every time you do a thousand get pointed back at you!!!!!!!!!!!

Censorship and propaganda have long been tools used to silence the voices of dissidents. Every dictatorship in the history of mankind has used censorship as a tool to rule over the masses. What price do we put on our freedoms? What if any justification can be used to explain why we choose to let government or an organization steal our inalienable rights. We must learn from the past, censorship does not protect our freedoms or insure our safety. Censorship does one thing and one thing only it stifles the voices of dissidents. We need a diverse dichotomy of view points in this world, especially today. What gives one group the right to decide how another should talk, write, hear, read, or what they should listen to? No one on this earth has that right, in my humble opinion.

My labor organization, in which I have served for over 23 years, and loved dearly has turned to censorship. The current leaderships fear of viewpoints that differ from than their own are censored or censured indefinitely. For an organization that was started to protect and further workers rights in the Federal Sector to stoop to censorship is an embarrassment!!! Our profession is a very difficult tight knit group, that sometimes eats it's young. We are a group of type "A" personalities personified. We work hard and we play hard, but we never in the past have ever thrown a Brother or Sister under the bus until this leadership took over. It's like some Bush mentality on labor and human rights were morphed into our Unions leadership.

Our former past President has been banned for life from the bulletin board he helped create. Why I ask? Does the current President fear freedom of speech written or spoken by it's membership? Or is he just a vindictive, unskilled, weak little man, with a Napoleon complex as big as his ego? I really don't know the answer to those questions. What I do know is, a labor organization that calls you a Brother with one breath, and then curses your name with the next, is no labor organization I really need to be a part of. I am deeply saddened by these events.
I believe with all my being that freedom of speech is one of the most important rights we all should hold so very dear in our hearts. To have it trampled by an organization that was founded on protecting those rights of it's members is unconscionable.

This day that we honor the late, great, Dr. Kings memory, it seems ALMOST SURREAL that tomorrow we will inaugurate our first Black President. What a tremendous load our new President has to bare. The hopes and dreams of every American rest on his shoulders. This Presidency more than any other in our history has a worldwide impact. The hopes and dreams of any race, creed, or religion that has dealt with oppression are being held in the balance. But let me remind you that one man cannot fix this Democracy, or this World,, but one Nation, one World, United for the better good of all can!

Tomorrow we celebrate not only history, but the dawn of a new era in our great land. Maybe just maybe, Dr. King's dream may some how now have a chance to come true. We must put our differences aside and come together in a way this country hasn't seen since WWII. We will have to sacrifice, and this endeavor will not be easy, but United we can and will overcome!!!!!!

I hope Mr. President Obama that you realize that those three beautiful ladies in your life are number one. I thank you in advance, for the sacrifices you and your family will be making over the course of the next four to eight years. The bosses who run the FAA have been mistreating the controllers since at least 1981

Few government employees have more important responsibilities than the federal air traffic controllers whose primary job is to protect the safety of the ever-growing number of air travelers. Yet few federal employees are more badly treated by their government bosses.

The bosses, who run the Federal Aviation Administration the FAA have been mistreating the controllers since at least 1981. That's when President Ronald Reagan fired more than 11,500 controllers who, seeking to improve their onerous working conditions, struck in violation of the law that prohibits strikes by federal employees.

It's been downhill ever since for the controllers. The Bush appointees who've been running the FAA for the past eight years have adamantly refused to grant controllers even the basic right to bargain collectively for a contract that would guarantee them decent working conditions.

The controllers' working conditions are so bad that nearly one-fifth of the controllers have quit over the past two years, reducing their number to the lowest level since 1992.

That has left many traffic control towers badly understaffed and has forced the controllers remaining on the job to work long, fatiguing work shifts of up to 10 hours, with fewer and shorter breaks, and little time to rest between shifts -- often for six days a week, sometimes for all seven days. In some locations, control towers have had to be shut down for hours at a time for lack of controllers.

The shortage of experienced controllers to guide commercial and private aircraft is a serious threat to safety the possibility of improperly guided planes smashing into each other in the air or on runways, or going dangerously off course and crashing. Although there have been no such incidents recently, there have been some two-dozen reports of near-misses in the past year. The shortage of controllers is also a main reason that so many commercial flights are late leaving and late arriving.

The controllers are working under a contract, but it's a contract that was imposed on them by the FAA in 2006 after the agency rejected union demands for improvements during negotiations for a new contract.

Rather than improving conditions, the imposed contract made them even worse. It took from controllers their previous right to take rest breaks after every two hours of their eye-straining, highly stressful work of tracking aircraft paths across radar screens. They lost their right to refuse to work overtime, no matter how stressed or fatigued they might be. The contract also set the pay of new hires almost one-third lower than that of veteran controllers.

"The work environment is horrible, there's no respect for people,² says President Patrick Forrey of the controllers' union, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. Finally, however, air traffic controllers have genuine hopes that their situation might improve substantially, thanks to the election of Barack Obama . The right to negotiate a new contract is what they want -- and need -- above all, and Obama has pledged to try to get it for them.

As a senator in 2006, Obama introduced a bill that was designed to stop the FAA from imposing a contract on the controllers and instead negotiate a new one with them, only to have the bill blocked by Senate Republicans. During his presidential campaign, Obama faulted the FAA for failing to treat controllers "with the respect they deserve."

Obama promises that as president, he'll direct his appointees to the Federal Aviation Administration to do what Bush's appointees refused to do. That is to work with the controllers and their union ³to restore morale and improve working conditions,² in accord with Obama's intent to return to the Clinton-era policy of requiring the FAA and all other federal agencies to work cooperatively with their employees' unions.

That should be and apparently will be a high priority for the Obama administration.

Oh You little Blue Devil!!

Here is my second guitar build. I made this guitar for my Sister. It's called the "Blue Devil" because this guitar wants to fight every step of the way. This guitar has a alder body with Candy Daphne Blue paint and many coats of clear that fought every step of the way. 1952 custom shop reissue pickups, rhythm bridge, (non ashtray so pick is clear of bridge), 1952 Fender reissue pots, custom neck plate, Dean Markley Blue steel strings 10-46 will be used. The tuners will be Fender 1950's reissue, pearl three layer pick guard, all stainless steel screws. I have sanded and buffed this guitar way too many times.I hope she enjoys it. I think the colors and the guitar turned out very well. We painted a pin up girl on the guitar and we didn't like it, so we covered her up, hell hath no fury as a woman scorned, and this guitar is a prime example.

Don't ever fear failure!

I never thought I would play guitar, let alone build one. I built this Tele for my best friend Mike V.
It is a solid ash body, with quilt maple top, Lindy Fralin pickups, Wilkinson bridge and tuners, 4way switch, custom neck and control plates, curly maple neck, and Dean Markley blue steel strings. I was afraid and excited at the same time. I really did my homework, but still made mistakes.

It's like Edison said: " I didn't fail one thousand times, I just learned a thousand ways not to make a light bulb ." I think that this is the only attitude to have in this life. I guess I learned how not to put string ferrules in. I learned to be patient. I learned to wait for all the parts,, then set up the guitar drill the holes and then finish the guitar. I've been told it plays better than it looks. I wish Mike much more success with all his future work and thank him for using this guitar on one of his up coming productions.

I would mostly like to thank my father, for teaching me so much in this life, for always trying new things, to always do my very best, to not fear failure, but prepare for success, a man's word is his bond, and anything worth doing is worth giving your very very best. He is the greatest teacher I have ever known! We sometimes have to agree, to disagree, but never forget I love you POP!

Don't ever be afraid to fail, fear of failure will only paralyze you. If you don't think you should take chances in this life and attack what you fear the most, then my friends I believe you are truly missing out, and are sadly mistaken.

Well I have not had much to say as of late. I just want to wish everyone a healthy and Happy New Year. If you have both of those, what else really matters? 2008 has been a very difficult year for many of us. Let's not hope, let's make 2009 the best year ever. We the people must take charge of our own destiny. We must let our elected officials know what tasks we want them to perform. We must all get involved. This is not a time to sit on the sidelines and watch the game pass us by. We must stand up, and take the time to let our new administration know how they are doing, good or bad, and get our great nation back on track. We have suffered threw possibly the worst administration ever over the past eight years. Many of our rights have been trampled or thrown to the wayside. Our economy is in the toilet, most of our large manufacturers are nearly bankrupt, all of our 401k's have been decimated. There is only one direction to climb from the bottom,that is up my friends. Our Fathers and Grandfathers had it much worse during the Great Depression.

We all have issue's, every single one of us. I guess it's how we deal with those issues that sets each of us apart. So if we all have issues ,why can some people cope, and others just fall apart? Do we learn how to deal with lives difficulties from our surroundings? Is it those surroundings that create our tough outer shells that protect us day in and day out? What makes two siblings that grow in up in the very same environment, so different?

Sometimes I wish life was a Kung Fu episode, so I could ask Master Po the difficult questions, only to be answered with a riddle or question. I guess most of us feel we only have part of the answers we really need. Maybe some questions aren't meant to be asked. Maybe some things aren't supposed to be common knowledge.

Is it wrong when you take solace in the fact that your life isn't as messed up as other people's. Wow look at how screwed up that poor bastard is, my life is pretty good. I think life boils down to perspective, we each create happiness or despair based on that view.

I really don't where I am going with all this, call it therapy, boredom, frustration, or all three.
I don't want to know all the answers, I don't think any of us could carry that burden.

So let me just pick one question. Why do women think that Men are so complex? We are simple creatures. Feed us, Sex us, tell us how wonderful we are, and leave us alone right when we get home and when the game is on. Is that really too much to ask? I not just talking about the economy, but life in general. Seeing someone you love dearly, dying in a hospice, will give you some instant perspective on how fragile this life we live can truly be. It can all be gone in the blink of an eye. It's very easy to wallow in self pity, to feel sorry for oneself,
but then you realize everyday above ground is a gift.

With all the turmoil in this world we live in, I was blessed to watch my beautiful granddaughter put on Christmas music, and trim the tree with my lovely wife today. Suddenly I was overwhelmed with joy and hope. It's the simple things in this life that really matter!

The opportunity everyday to touch someone else in a positive manner, is the true gift of humanity. During this holiday season those of us that are blessed with more, must reach out to those who have less. It's not the governments job, it is humanities task to help one another.

Without simple acts of kindness, this life is wasted. It's much easier to be kind, than to be cruel.
So I ask everyone to reach out and touch another brother or sister with one simple act of kindness this holiday season. Call it Karma, Paying it forward, Simple acts of kindness, or just giving to those who have less. But whatever you call it, just go out and do it.

So many of our men and women in the Military will be spending Christmas away from home again. To all that serve , I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Be safe, and come home soon.

My favorite Auntie in the whole world has battled Cancer for 13 years. She is an extraordinary human being. She got her Bachelors degree after she turned sixty. She was my Mothers guardian angel when they were growing up. She went into a hospice today, it's so hard to hold back the tears.

I am sharing this personal tragedy with you for one reason. Live each day like there is no tomorrow. This doesn't mean don't plan for the future, this means don't blink and let your hopes and dreams pass you bye. Make a bucket list, or whatever you want to call it, an do everything on it!

Time is short in this life, it will pass you bye in the blink of a eye. Please don't waste one more second. We often times are so busy, that we forget to tell the ones around us, how much we love them. We take time for granted, it's the only thing we can never stop, or get back the time we've lost.
I know that Cancer has touched many of our loved ones. It is a horrible, ruthless disease. I just hope someday we can cure this awful disease. So make this life count, make every word mean something, don't let this wonderful life pass you bye.

The words we say mean something, they have a life all of their own, they cut through all matter flesh to stone, they are mightier than the sword.

For the next 48 days many bloggers, yours truly included don't have much to write about these days. It's a huge waiting game. In my profession it is a continuous state of fear and disgust. After over 2 1/2 years without a contract and management still acting with impunity, its quite frightening. I truly feel sorry for the new generation. I hope they someday might see what our great profession is really supposed to be like.

Enough about work, as the Holiday season is almost upon us, I wish all of you, a truly Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Karma is laying in wait for those that in the last eight years have taken advantage of the American people. You can call it whatever you like, A day of reckoning, Karma, or simply some long overdue payback. Just know it is coming. Forty eight days, 6 weeks, we can do this standing on our heads. But like I have said all along, we must come together, in one common front and return America to it's former greatness. Nothing less will do!!!!

If it doesn't raise a red flag to anyone who drives a vehicle than you must be asleep at the wheel. Has the production cost of gasoline gone down three hundred percent? Absolutely not!!! The oil companies finally bit the hand that feeds them . The oil companies have put the world auto-makers in dire straights. The speculation on oil that supposedly spiked oil prices is a fabrication. This contrived rip off of the global petroleum market is not only criminal but is going to cost the oil companies dearly.

Worldwide use of petroleum products has only decreased by 5%. Is this really enough to drive the cost of gasoline from over $4.30 a gallon to $1.72 or less a gallon? No friggin way! After this price gouging ripoff, the cost per barrel is rapidly approaching the production cost per barrel. This blatant rip off of the world has directly contributed to the financial crisis we are currently suffering around the globe.

So the Airlines have cried uncle, and you refused to listen. But when the automakers cry, you finally listen. The oil companies realize that if they continue to rape us, it will force there long time partners in crime to produce alternate fuel forms of transportation. They finally realize their course will eventually destroy them.

I say screw the oil companies. Conserve as much as we can. Continue to use less oil. Force the big three in America to finally get off the oil tit once and for all. I say we bail out the first automaker that accomplishes this goal. The rest can go eat cake, or the oil companies can bail out their partners in crime.

We must as a Nation refuse to succumb to any bailout of the major three. Let the free market reign. Maybe this will finally be the wake up call these manufactures need. What will our gross national product be like if this continues? I'll tell you what, not one thing will be made in America .
We will import everything we buy, and be at the mercy of an unstable world market.

It's time for some tough love with these selective capitalist. I realize that many jobs will be lost. But we must stop the bleeding now. You heard it here, first from the Fokker. If not, we will have no manufacturing at all in the USA.

A certain Federal Agency has played fast and loose with the law for over two years. This agency has encouraged, no ordered their Managers to exercise power and control to divide and conquer their own employee's. To take away all input about safety, procedures, and future technology from the very professionals that are experts in their field, and do amazing things on a daily basis.

This Agency illegally imposed work rules, and had the audacity to call it a contract. They agreed to ground rules prior to bargaining, and broke everyone. This agency walked away from the bargaining table, and in two hours had a 300 plus page document printed, and sent to every member of Congress. This agency under direction of the oval office, hired Union busters to kill the organization that represents these Federal workers.

Well to all Federal Managers that broke the law, that treated their workforce like second class citizens, that worked with impunity because no one would give this group of employee's due process, your day of reckoning is coming. You will pay for your mistreatment of your workforce, for breaking the law, for acting in bad faith against the very workforce that makes you look good, and enables you to receive a bonus every year. You stole from us! You did your best to destroy the system, so it could be contracted out to the lowest bidder.

The difference between you and us is, all we ever wanted was our rights under law and statute. To be treated fairly, with dignity and respect.

We, unlike yourselves will continue to be professional, will not be petty, will be respectful and diligent. We will put safety first. We will regulate, not pretend we have customers, using a failed business plan. We will make air travel better than it has ever been. We will work with you in a real partnership regardless of how wretched you have treated us in the past. We will recruit, train, and retain our highly trained professionals. We will compensate them justly and according to incredibly difficult job they do daily.

But mostly we will forgive you, this time for your transgressions.

But don't think for one second we will ever forget how you acted. Your history will be one of embarrassment and disdain. If you think we will ever let you destroy our amazing profession again, then you are sadly mistaken.

I belong to an Aviation organization. I have been a proud member for over 21 years. It seems when times get tough, our current leadership would prefer to just bury their heads in the sand. We have two former officials that our in dire need of our help. They are involved in a law suit that is paramount to free speech, in my opinion. The membership voted to help these individuals, and yet our leadership refuses to follow the direction of our delegates. This is contrary to our bylaws.

Solidarity is the back bone of organized labor. Strength in numbers is the only way a workforce can level the playing field in negotiations and the protection of their members. Without solidarity our organization is powerless and weak. I have been sickened by this lack of fortitude by the leadership of this association. We have lost site of what is important. Brotherhood and Sisterhood. Taking care of one another. Supporting each other in good times and in bad. The people in my profession know exactly who I am talking about.

To these individuals, if you continue to refuse to comply with your supreme body, if you continue to let our brothers hang in the wind, then my friends this organization is doomed, and you are sadly mistaken if you think I will stand idle and let you continue with this travesty.

There are 18 million people that think I am wrong, but Hilliary on short list for Secretary of State?
I am not so sure this is the change I thought was coming. Is this pay back for her support in the election? Is Hilliary the best choice? I am not sure on any of those for mentioned questions. The problem is two fold in my opinion, one another Washington insider, and two a Clinton in the White House again. This is just more fuel for the fire, for the lie mongering GOP propaganda machine.

I am not saying Hilliary wouldn't do a great job, she just carries too much baggage. I don't really think that she can answer the 72 questions asked of any other would be Obama Cabinet member, and pass with flying colors.

Do we really want to lose another Senator? I really would like 60 for the Veto proof/Filibuster proof majority. But that's just me, "Mr. Vegas". I really want to hear what you think on this issue.

Maybe Barrack is so confident about his ability to cross party lines, that this is not even an issue.
Bill Richardson would be my first choice, if I were King of the forest, not Prince, not Duke, not Earl.

Selective Capitalism and the burden on the middle class.

It's seems every time things go south for a major corporation, out goes their hands for help. Our car manufacturers are in dire straights, why? Partly because of a failure to keep up with a changing world market, partly with a failure to get off fossil fuels, but mostly from the cost of health care for their workforce. Again we go back to pay me now or pay me later. The next administration must come up with a viable Health care fix. It is paramount.

But why do we insist upon bailing out these companies? I believe it's the cost of being the biggest baddest "Martha Fokkers" on the block. To keep the brilliant minds in the corporations that build our defense technology comes with a huge price tag. This price has been saddled upon the middle class for years. Corporations are just that and end to a means, make money, create wealth for their share holders, and board of directors. If America won't pay, then who will? One of our enemies, of course. It's this fear that has a strong hold in this country. It keeps us right where these huge corporations want us, in a perpetual state of fear and anxiety.

So how do we break this vicious cycle? We quit trying to be the world police and start taking care of our own people. For once we lead by example. We quit being the "Democracy of Hipocracy" and become the gold standard, once again.

We can no longer afford the huge burden of cost plus bids for technology that might not ever work, NEXTGEN is a prime example.

It's obvious that these mega-corporations will not care how much they destroy this country. They will bleed us dry to the very last drop. Karl Marx said it well," Corporate greed will destroy Capitalism", I believe these words to be true. Just as his Utopian idea of Communism will never work because of mankind's inability to allow true equality for all.

The fact that Congress never declared war doesn't give us the right to discount the price many paid, and are still paying for that horrible war.

As our Veteran's return from Iraq they will need help to re-adjust. Many of our young servicemen and women have served three, even four, tours of duty.

We must not forget these men and women ever!!!!!!

And most importantly to our new President and Congress, don't try to justify war by playing by some sort of rules, (I.E.The Geneva Convention) This in my humble opinion, is just mans way of trying to give the most uncivil act between mankind a little civility. A selfish way for those who send our sons and daughters to kill or be killed to get some sleep.

War is absolutely the last option in times of conflict. It cannot be a choice made rashly, or in anger, or in fear. It must be the end all, do all , for mankind. Only when nothing else on this earth will save our people, should we even consider war as an option.

War is a win at all cost endeavor, not to be taken lightly, or tried to be made civil.
There is absolutely nothing civil about war. It is the most horrible thing man can do to man.

It's election day. I woke up this morning without the alarm clock. That in itself on my day off is unprecedented. I was as excited as a child on Christmas morning. The wife and I got up, drove to our polling site and cast our votes for change. Afterwards we grabbed a cup of Joe, a quick high five, and not a word was spoken. It was a very surreal feeling, one of excitement and hope. Never in my life have I been so proud ,by simply exercising my right to vote.

I say let the healing begin! Let's take America back !!!!!!!! This is a day that we all can stand proud! Whatever the outcome, we must unite, and fix this broken Democracy!

To what ever higher power controls these things, if you can't deliver me a President, then please give me a veto proof majority in the Senate and the House.

I pray we all can come together and unite for the common good once and for all.

We've been so far right in this country for so long that, liberal is now almost a moderate position. How could we let this happen? In one of the most educated countries in the world we allow certain groups to pull the wool over our eyes. Are we naive, gullible, to trust worthy, or just lazy? I say all four.

We need to end partisan politics and get to the task of saving this Democracy. Both parties must come to the middle. We must have a bi-partisan, put the politics aside, meeting in the middle. All party agenda's must sit on the sidelines until we come together and bring the United States back to it's former greatness. We can no longer afford to let the Senate cripple our nations law makers. The House must be getting tired of doing all the heavy lifting. The House time and time again has passed legislation only to see their friends in the Senate quiver in fear over the mere possibility of a filibuster or veto threat.

The Senate has been frozen in fear and cowardice for much too long. The Senate's inaction has reflected poorly on the House's approval rating. The Senate deserves the poor approval rating they have earned it. not the House.

The Senate must force this lame duck President to veto legislation, and make the minority
filibuster.

Then the rest of the Senate must call out their counterparts. The Senate must step up and clean house in the Senate. The Senate's inaction in the Steven's and Craig issues are part of the problem. It's time for the Senate to lead by example, step up, and help fix this country. To all members of the Senate, you have been an anchor much too long, get off your collective asses and do the job we are paying you for.

As a man in a bi-racial marriage, I see racism on a daily basis. Many people don't realize my wife is Black and Japanese. They say and do things that really just piss me off. I don't think that many White's truly understand how racist they are, and don't even know it. It's very simple, any stereotype or joke is inappropriate, most are hurtful, and rude. Don't assume because you are around your own race you can say anything. This goes for all races.

The pigment of one's skin is based genetically on where your ancestors came from. Through thousands and thousands of years of evolution pigmentation evolved depending on the amount of sunlight in the region. It's that simple.

I have seen the RNC ( Republican National Committee) exploit racism in this Presidential race. It's ugly and contrary to law. John McCain and Sarah Palin have used every trick in the book to discredit Barrack Obama.

They used robo-calls calling Barrack a terrorist. They told Americans that Barrack is a Muslim. What, the Republican party doesn't believe in freedom of religion? The corner stone belief that brought our founding fathers to a brave new world.

They chant Barrack Obama, "kill him at rallies." The Secret Service stands by and allows this hatred and racism.

They accused him of having the same beliefs of his pastor. Guilt by association. I thought we were all innocent until proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of our peers.

It's not Justice, "it's Just us" said Richard Prior for the blacks in this country when it comes to lack of justice.

Racism isn't gone in this country, it's just lying dormant, hidden in the dark corners and fringes of society waiting for the right time to come out into the light. John McCain and Sarah Palin have stood by and allowed this behavior. They have used a fake working class guy named "Joe the Plummer." That's not even his name, and he's not a plummer.

John McCain and Sarah Palin have embraced racism. They have decided to win at any cost. They have thrown the law, humanity , and dignity to the wayside. Is dividing our country, promoting racism, lying to the American public anyway to start a Presidency? Absolutely not! The most important election in our lifetime is about to be decided. It is time to act, to have a say in our destiny's. Have you got three hours? Can you give up three hours of TV between now and November 4th? Just three hours to help change our country. Can you do it?

I say you can't afford not too. We cannot sit back and hope for the best. We must get off our collective asses and help exact the change that is so long overdue. You can volunteer for a local race, or a national race, it doesn't matter, just do it. Don't wait until November 5th, when it is too late. We have no one else to blame but ourselves, if we don't take an active roll in our political futures.

Can our country take four more years of McSame? Can Sarah Palin be allowed to be one heart beat away from the Presidency? I say no we can't. I say no she can't. Universal heath care is a very hot issue this election cycle. The Republican's scream socialism. The fact is the US is the only industrialized Nation without universal health care. Why? We are always the gold standard in every other type of service or infrastructure. For so long the Republicans have touted, "less Government, don't create another huge albatross like Social Security." "Socialism, Socialism" they cry. The truth is we are already a Socialized Democracy, Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, Social Security, low interest business loans, the list goes on and on.
Let's not forget the 700 billion dollar bailout!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Insurance and Drug companies, have lobbied successfully to destroy universal heath care. Once again corporate greed, supersedes the welfare of the public.

The Republicans say, "the system will be abused by non-citizens". The fact is health care is already provided to anyone who chooses to go to the Hospital. EMTALA regulations do not allow Emergency Rooms to refuse care to anyone regardless of insurance or citizenship. In our border States Hospitals loose countless millions treating the non-insured/non-citizen .
The Federal Government refuses to reimburse these States any monies.

So who do you think pays? The consumer of course. We all do, in higher health insurance premiums, higher prescription drug prices, higher co-pays, higher hospital co-pays, ER co-pays, worse care from HMO's. So if we are already paying, why do we fear universal health care?
Ignorance, lies, fear?

We all use preventive maintenance on our cars. Why not our bodies? Those without health care are less likely to go to the hospital. When they do go to the hospital, the lack of preventive health care makes their conditions much worse. Now their care is extremely expensive and often terminal. Once again who pays? And once again I say, we do. So if we are already paying for it, why not lower our cost by allowing all to have health care. Allowing all to use preventive medicine. Lowering our overall cost for health care in the long run.

So we can start to pay for it now, or we will continue to pay for it later!!!!

We have two presidential candidates. Barrack Obama graduated first in his class at Harvard Law, John McCain was 894 out of 899 in his class at the Naval Academy.

Barrack Obama came from very humble beginnings and rose to where he is today, by hard work and sacrifice.

John McCain came from wealth and power the grandson and son of Admirals. John McCain was basically a legacy to get into the Naval Academy.

Why did one of these candidates take his education so seriously and the other just get squeak by?
Hunger, drive, determination, and grit. How can John McCain be an everyday American? Frankly I don't think he can.

The effort that Barrack put forth in his education is a pre-cursor to his work ethic and determination.

John McCain left all he had left in a prison camp in Hanoi, like a prize fighter who took a severe beating, he left it all there. I don't believe at 72 years of age he has enough left in the tank to do the job. The President works 16-18 hour days 7 days a week. Do you really think John McCain has the endurance? Frankly I don't!

And if god forbid anything happened to whomever became President. Who would you want running this country? Joe Biden , or wink wink, you betcha, what does the Vice President do again, Sarah Palin.

Don't think for one second this Presidential race is over! The RNC has sunk to new lows in this election. From robo-calls, racism, hate, intimidation, and lies. Every citizen must get out and vote this election. We must also to be vigilant at our voting venues. I suggest you bring a video recorder and record any improprieties. In past election the inter-cities polling places were manned with armed off duty police officers.This was to intimidate those who fear an don't trust these authority figures. The Black vote is 12% of the population. Deterring this demographic of voters can change an election.

Don't use a provision ballot, unless it is your absolute last option. Most provisional votes end up getting thrown out and don't count. Make your vote count! Bring two forms of identification. Don't let a miss-print or simple clerical error deny you your right to choose. Make sure you get out and vote on November 4th. Don't believe any, and I mean anything written that says you vote on a different day. It is a lie. You have been targeted because they don't want you to exercise your right to vote. This is not hysteria or a conspiracy theory, these are tactics that have been used in the past.

And remember the fight just starts on November 4th. We must all get involved and make a positive change for our nations future. November 5th we must hit the ground running get involved and take our law makers to task.

Less Religion More Faith

For thousands of years mankind has fought over religion. Millions have paid the ultimate price in the name of religion.

Organized Religions were created by man to control the masses. God did not create religions, he created faith.

In times of great turmoil and adversity man had to create an avenue to ensure order and tranquility. There was no infrastructure's, like law enforcement,a judicial system, prisons, to control the masses. In a desolate desert where every man was armed, it was a difficult task. The laws of man could not control the masses without an army to carry out the law. So let's raise the stakes, eternal damnation, your soul will be lost for ever, you'll burn in hell. Religion played upon fear in the after life. I am not saying all religion is corrupt or meaningless, I just believe that true faith in what ever higher power you believe in is more powerful and sincere than religion.

I'll use the Mormon's as an example. Imagine being in a wagon train heading west and settling in desolate Utah. Every man was armed, and daily life was a struggle. There wasn't enough to eat or drink, shelter had to be built. So the Mormons created rules on food and water supplies,and many other rules to keep order in this chaotic new setting. These rules became a part of the Mormon religion.

I can't even count the number of religions in this world. Let's just use the top four. Christianity, Judaism, Muslim, Buddhism. Which one is correct? I say none, they were all created by man to control the masses in difficult times and circumstances.

Prior to organized religion societies used to worship gods and deities to control their societies. Human sacrifice, torture, and other forms of terror were used.

Religion was not always used for just controlling the masses. It was also used to bring society together in fellowship and brother and sisterhood.

So why has religion been used so viciously and horrifically by man? The only reason I can think of is, power and control. The Roman Catholics certainly used their religion in this manner. To persecute another human being because of their faith goes against the grain of all faith. It is as unholy and cruel as man can be towards another man.

In my opinion Gods greatest gift to mankind is free will. The choice to choose ones destiny, ones faith. Why would a fair and just God allow mankind freewill? I believe he wanted all of us to decide for ourselves how we choose to live our lives. It makes a lot of sense to me, by giving us free will he also made us take responsibility for our actions, if not in this lifetime then maybe in the next.

So let's all have more faith and less religion, exercise our free will, because too many have perished in the name of religion, if this doesn't make you revisit your faith, then friends I think you are sadly mistaken.

Separation of Church and State

I have no dog in this fight, but I don't understand all the controversy. Marriage is a religious institution created by religion and acted out in houses of worship. This holy institution is recognized by our Government. Those heterosexual couples that choose to enter into wedlock are afforded tax incentives and rights under law and statue in case of the untimely passing of their spouse.

The US government has no business involving our Government in the definition of marriage. Marriage is a truly religious institution. Our government chooses to acknowledge this religious institution.
By not acknowledging any union of two individuals regardless of sex is prejudicial. These individuals should be afforded the same rights under law and statue as anyone else. Let the Church decide the definition of marriage. Let the government recognize a domestic partnership just as they recognize marriage.

I don't agree or disagree with a lifestyle choice or if predestined sexual preference is a fact.
I just believe that every citizen in this great nation deserves the rights afforded by the Constitution of the United States of America.

In my humble opinion any ruling of the definition of marriage by the Courts, Congress, or any branch of the Government is Unconstitutional.

I hope that some day we can truly separate our Government and Religion. This Country was founded on the principles of religious freedom for all. That includes those who choose not to worship a specific religion.

1929 may seem like an eternity ago for most. The worst economic disaster in this countries young history. In 1929 1% of the population had 90% of this countries wealth. This inequitable distribution of wealth was one of the main causes of the great depression. President Roosevelt's chief economic adviser explained it like this: "It's like a poker game where one player has the majority of the chips at the table. The game can continue only as long as the chip leader can loan chips to the other players until their credit runs out. After this it's game over. " Collapse of financial institutions is game over. When there is no longer working capital left to keep capitalism afloat we have a financial disaster.

Let's move to present day 2008. Again 1% of the population has over 90% of this nations wealth. The bottom fifty percent have less than 1% of the nations wealth. Does this sound familiar? It should've, it happened 79 years ago.

The financial bailout was the feeble attempt to put working capitol back in the system. The problem is that giving these monies to the top 1% only exacerbates the problem. Giving monies to the bottom fifty percent would be a more viable fix to the problem. A redistribution of wealth must occur.

How do we as the middle class help ourselves? We eliminate as much personal debt as we can. We can't sit back and expect our Government to fix this problem. How well did that work for the citizens of New Orleans? I know many people are financially strapped. It can be done a little at a time. There are many books that can help us all become debt free. We must have the fiscal responsibility that our government can't seem to muster. If we the people lead by example then and only then can we take our government to task. Let's rise above our governments hypocrisy, and set the example for them to follow.

Now let's look at the candidates financial plans, one gives more money to the rich, and one wants to distribute wealth.

If you think John McCain's plan to make the rich even richer is the answer, then first you need to bone up on your history, and again friends I think you are sadly mistaken.

In the 1980's Public enemy had a hit album "Fear of a Black Planet". It spoke of the lack of emergency services in ghetto, and many other social problems in our inter cities.

My greatest fear is, that many who told pollsters they are going to vote for Obama, may have a change of heart. In the dark lonely confines of a voting booth anything can happen. This deep seated fear of relinquishing power and to control to a non-anglo President scares many in our nation. There is no need to fear, soon we will be the minority. This great melting pot will soon be a "COCOA NATION" where interracial marriage will be the norm, not the exception to the rule. We cannot fear this changing of the guard, it is inevitable and will happen in our life time. The group that fears this change the most is white women over the age of 60.

This is my homage to the "Great Schelp" Grandma its ok to vote for the black guy. Again that goes for anyone who fears a black planet, it's ok to vote for the black guy with the funny name.

Don't fear this change, embrace it with open arms, there is nothing you can do to stop it.
My children and grand children are beautiful interracial children. For many years my sons and daughters have had difficulty finding where they belong. Are we more aligned with the black race? The Roman Catholic church did not want the masses to have their own copies of the Bible. Why is this you ask? Because educated masses are dangerous, they question authority, they can decide for themselves what the printed word means. Education also creates spirited debate and dissenting opinions. A democracy must have this type of diverse thought. Distention and debate are two of the most important checks and balances in a Democracy. Without these checks and balances you have a lock step, don't question authority, because I said so, society.

How dare anyone try to tell citizens of the US that if they don't believe blindly in their government and elected officials they are unpatriotic. This type of lock step, party liner, Neo-nazi attitude is why our founding fathers and sisters left Europe to find freedom in a brave new world.

Over the last ten years we as a country have tried to educate our daughters about body image. The ultra skinny models, anorexic actresses are no longer tre-sheik. Curves are in. It's ok to be a real woman. Education, intelligence, forward thinking, are not traits to be hidden by women.

Sarah Palin does not believe in a woman's right to choose. Sarah Palin is running on a ticket for one reason, she is attractive. Have we as Americans jumped back in to the shallow pool? Since when is education, intelligence, being articulate, the ability to think on your feet, honesty, and for god's sake,actually being qualified for a position, not become a prerequisite for Vice President .

If Sarah Palin resembled Janet Reno we wouldn't even know her name.

Finally an election to get excited about!

In the seven election cycles I've been eligible to vote in, this is the first time I have ever been truly excited about a candidate!

I have never been a fan of change for the sake of change! I truly believe Barrack Obama can stop the bleeding, and start the breathing in our once great country. Imagine how the world will see us if we elect our first black President? America,"The hypocrisy", becomes, America, "The dream", again. Where the son of a bi-racial marriage and a single parented home can rise up and become President.

What does this say to our youth? It reinforces what we have always believed in this country, work hard, study hard, and the possibilities are endless. Better yet, it proves this fact to the world.

No longer will the rest of the world say: "America, they talk a good game but they don't practice what they preach"! I say let the healing begin. Get out of Iraq, get Bin Laden,restore our once great economy,educate our children and grand children.

The only way this can happen is if we all get out and vote. Let's show the world that we are tired of the status quo, and we just won't take it anymore. John McCain is not a friend to veterans!!!

The Federal Government successfully contracted out the Flight service stations in the Continental US. Over 70% of these Federal workers were Veterans. One of these flight service stations is in John McCain's district. When the Senator was approached by the Union that represented these workers, they ask John McCain for help. Many of these workers had just months until they would be eligible for retirement. The Senator was on board until he found out it was only 1500 Veterans. Only 1500 men and women who served their Country with dignity and respect. Imagine working 20 years in a profession only to have your pending retirement annuity ripped away, by stupidity and corporate greed. Lockheed Martin has this government contract, they have not saved US tax payers one thin dime like promised. Ask any General aviation pilot how poor services provided by Lockheed have become.

Your Countries Air Traffic Controllers have not had a contract for over two years. Most facilities are understaffed. Many facilities have over 40 % new employees. Over 60% of them are veterans.

Many of these veterans have been terminated by the FAA simply because they were probationary employees. No other reason. Even when these employee's immediate supervisors and Managers gave them a recommendation to continue employment. The FAA's human resources division refuses to comply with their own HRPM regulations.

I approached Senator McCain about a Veteran, an active reservist in the Navy. This individual was unjustly terminated with three days notice. Senator McCain said he could not help this individual because he was in a probationary status. I then proposed the Veterans Protection Act of 2007.Any Veteran who serves at least one year of active duty is exempt from any Federal probationary period. The Senator refused. So much for our heroes, hey Senator?

The War in Iraq has the greatest amount of activated Reservist in the history of this country. Many reservist have served two, even three tours of duty. They have been on active duty for three years. But because of a catch 22 in the GI bill they are not entitled to the same education benefits as active duty personnel. These individuals have been on active duty as long as many have been on their whole enlistment.
The New GI bill would fix this. Senator McCain voted against it.

The bill to fund body armor for troops and their humvee's, it had earmarks, The Senator voted against it. He voted against body armor because of earmarks, are kidding me?IED's have killed or maimed over fifty percent of the casualties in Iraq. Body and vehicle armor would increase the survivability rate exponentially.

John McCain: He for Veterans when it's more than 1500.
John McCain: He doesn't want all Veterans to get a chance at a college education.
John McCain: You served your country, so what, your fired.
John McCain: Body Armor, who needs body armor.

Do you thing that any human being that endured the torture that John McCain did doesn't wake up in a cold sweat screaming in the middle of the night from, POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER, then my friends you are sadly mistaken.

The real heroes are no longer with us!

Hero is a term we throw out like the babies bath water these days. If your in the Military you're a hero. Anything above and beyond normal is now some how heroic. I dare you to ask any living Medal of Honor recipient, and they will tell you they are not heroes. They will tell you they were in a situation that required action. They all rose to the challenge. I believe our real heroes are no longer with us. Our real heroes paid the ultimate price. The American soldier does not fight for a cause, our Country , or Mom and Dad. Each one fights for the man to their left and right. They fight for their brothers in arms. If you think anything different, you are sadly mistaken. I am in noway, shape, or form, discounting any heroic deed that was acknowledged by our Armed Forces.

I think we do our Heroes, like the Fire fighters and Police officers who ran up in the towers to save people they didn't even know a huge disservice by our liberal use of the word Hero. Those who paid ultimate price are truly heroes.

This brings me to what I believe is the most important Presidential election in my 50 years. To become the first Black President in this Country truly takes courage. Colin Powell wouldn't do it. Barrack Obama has put himself, and his family in harms way to become President of these United States, that truly takes courage and intestinal fortitude. Courage is not always measured on the Battle field, or in a POW camp in Vietnam. Eight years of turmoil, War , Poverty , Destruction of our Constitution, Economic Disaster, New Orleans, I could go on and on.

Ask yourself this: Can this Country take four more years of McSame?

Ask an individual who did a heroic deed what separates them from the rest, and I believe you won't get an answer you thought you would.
